Q. I'm considering starting a personal blog and I'm kinda' confused. What's the first thing I should do?
A. In my opinion, the first thing you should do is determine your theme - in other words what you are going to write about. Although there are a number of different steps that you can go through, most new bloggers will take the simple and logical shortcut and blog about their own interests. By doing this, the blog becomes a “web journal” and the content comes naturally.
Do not think monetization or traffic until you have come up with a good theme and created several posts with good, original content.

I dunno, I kinda disagree here... my blog has no theme... it just flows with my life... and the great part is that if I am into scrapbooking, I talk about scrapbooking if I am writing a book, I talk about that... and then I get to keep posting on the same blog, and don't have to start a new one for every hobby I get into... It's also really cool to look back on my blog and see all the different stuff I have done!
